Toll Operations
The functionality of each toll plaza and also the toll lanes are tweeted every 30 minutes to inform the public of toll plaza conditions.The scope covers traffic conditions at the toll plazas, any congestion at particular toll lanes and any mechanical defects of automatic lane barriers (ALBs).

MEX is an open toll expressway with three toll plazas along its 26-km alignment:
- Salak Selatan Toll Plaza
- Seri Kembangan Toll Plaza
- Putrajaya Toll Plaza

All toll lanes are equipped with CCTV for general surveillance and monitoring of traffic flow. Each toll plaza has a Control Centre with 24-hours surveillance to monitor traffic, transactions and equipment.
In 2016, following the announcement by Malaysia Highway Authority (MHA), MEX fully transformed its toll collection system to electronics, eliminating the manual (cash) toll collection method. Now, the toll collection system is fully based on Touch ‘n Go (TNG), RFID, SmarTAG and Open Payment System (OPS).
As part of our effort to provide convenience to all users, Touch ‘n Go Point – of- Sale (POS) is available at Putrajaya Toll Plaza and Salak Selatan Toll Plaza for users to stop by and reload their Touch ‘n Go cards.
Touch ‘N Go Point–of–Sale
Touch ‘n Go Point-of-Sale (POS) service provides travellers with a convenient way to ensure that their TNG cards have sufficient funds while travelling to their intended destinations. This dedicated service is designed to offer a reload service for MEX highway users during their journeys.
At MEX, Touch ‘n Go POS services are available for highway users at Putrajaya Toll Plaza and Salak Selatan Toll Plaza. The service is accessible every day, including public holiday, operating from 7 am to 9 pm.
Open Payment System
Open Payment System, also known as OPS, is a toll collection initiative introduced by the Malaysia government. It allows highway users to use debit or credit cards with the features of Mydebit, Mastercard and VISA to pay toll fares. MEX became one of the first 12 highways operators to offer OPS as a toll payment method, in addition to the existing TNG, Smartag and RFID options.
The pilot test began on 3rd August 2023 on six lanes at three MEX toll plazas. This phase aimed to address the technical, security and legislation aspects, and ensure a smooth implementation following the standards set by the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA). Malaysia Work Minister, Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, was invited to Putrajaya Toll Plaza to experience the system’s effectiveness and launched the OPS official logo.
The OPS was officially implemented on 29th September 2023.
